π¦π° The Vampire's Bride π°π¦ Here's my first attempt at acrylics since several years (I think since 2015) and I'm satisfied with it! Ayami Kojima has always been a reference for me and I'm glad being back to watch her work in order to level up making my own illustrations π¨β¨ About this painting, it has a full back story. It is about marriage in some societies, how it can be vampirizing people because of the social status it gives, the State is the vampire/bats, the bride represents women, the black widow eating the butterfly trapped in the dress's web is representing men that also are trapped. But don't get me wrong! I have nothing against this institution, I'm just taking notes on the bad aspects it can have in some societies, according what I got from my surrounding, I'm not making politics. It is before everything, a good excuse to make the goth/metal kid in me express on a canvas :) π¦ΉββοΈ Steps : several sketches, then the good one, quick painting, quick digital painting mood so as to be sure about the art direction to follow, then rendering and having fun β¨π¦ π·οΈπΈοΈπ¦
I was listening to a lot of Michiru Yamane's compositions while making this, metal songs, and dark themed DnB
